I'm Kacey. I began making jewelry back in 2003 and sold pieces to family and friends. As my love of designing grew I opened up my first online shop on Etsy. In December of 2006 I participated in my first craft show at the Holiday Handmade Market in Burlington, VT. That same year I ran into a friend who enlisted me and another local crafter to join her in creating the (now defunct) Burlington Craft Mafia. I also began selling my jewelry at a local store called Made Boutique.
Through Made Boutique I found an audience for my work and became friends and business associates with Sara the owner. Sara started producing a local indie craft show called the Queen City Craft Bazaar, and I helped her with the production of the show. A few years later the Burlington Craft Mafia shut down and Sara closed her shop to move out of State. I really wanted to continue the mission of promoting indie craft in Vermont and so with the permission of Sara I took over the name Queen City Craft Bazaar, created a blog called Queen City Craft, and to this day I continue to promote indie craft in VT through my blog and I also produce the annual Queen City Craft Bazaar.
I am a balancing act of creative and business juices. I have worked in sales and the web for over 10 years. As a former web project manager and now as a web analyst I bring valuable business knowledge as well as the creative energy to Subsixstudios and Queen City Craft. I am a mother of two boys, wife to a rockin' web developer, and protector to my rescue dog named Odie. In addition to wearing all of these hats I am also an online affiliate marketer for Barefoot Books and a sales rep for Ava Anderson Non-Toxic.
My creative passions include making jewelry, poetry, crocheting, music, playing guitar, sewing, photography, and reading. My work has evolved over the years. I am currently obsessed with fiber arts and I am working on a line of fiber jewelry and accessories.
